Clerk
Responsibilities
The Town Clerk is the:
- Receiver of Taxes (Town, county, special assessment, school)
- Licensing Officer for the sale of licenses and permits (e.g., dog, marriage, conservation, games of chance, bingo)
- Records Management Officer for the retention and disposition of all Town documents including the proceedings of the Town Board
Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Requests
As Records Access Information Officer, the Clerk coordinates FOIL requests with the appropriate departments to obtain information promptly. The Clerk is also responsible for bid openings, legal notices, and administration of oaths of office.
Town Newspaper
As of January 1st, 2021, the official Town newspaper for providing legal notices is The Daily Record.
